Why we love Hyatt hotels
The dreamy Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach property
We love Hyatt hotels mainly because they’re easy to book using credit card points and they offer tremendous value for the points price! Read along for more of the specifics:
Valuable Rewards Program
World of Hyatt Points: The World of Hyatt loyalty program offers some of the most valuable points in the hotel industry. Points are worth more per point compared to many other hotel programs, making them highly desirable for travelers looking to maximize their rewards. More on this below.
Favorable Redemption Rates: Hyatt has relatively low point redemption rates for award nights, meaning you can often get more nights for fewer points, offering excellent value.
Credit Cards to Earn Hyatt Points
World of Hyatt Credit Card: The World of Hyatt personal credit card typically offers 30,000 points after spending $3,000 in 3 months. You can earn an additional 30,000 points by earning 2x per dollar within the first 6 months, on up to $15,000 spent (we don’t normally recommend pursuing this second tier). There is a $95 annual fee on this card, but you receive a free night certificate on your cardholder anniversary which can be used to book any Category 1-4 Hyatt property for $0. Great deal! Remember, this card counts toward your 5/24 status.
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card: The World of Hyatt business credit card typically offers 60,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in 3 months. You can earn an additional 15,000 points by spending $12,000 within the first 6 months (again, we don’t normally recommend pursuing the second tier on this card). There is a $199 annual fee on this card, and it offers no free night certificates on your cardholder anniversary. This card does not count toward your 5/24 status.
Transfer Partners
Chase Ultimate Rewards Transfer: Hyatt is a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards, which is one of the most popular and flexible point currencies in the travel hacking world. You can transfer Chase points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, allowing for strategic use of points when booking stays. Chase is the only transfer partner of Hyatt, making those Chase Ultimate Rewards even more valuable!
Chase Ultimate Rewards Credit Cards: There are a plethora of credit cards that earn Chase Ultimate Rewards. Below are our referral links for many of them - and as a reminder, using our referral links costs you nothing but helps support us by giving us a small kickback when new cardholders apply!

Variety of Properties
Luxury and Boutique Hotels: Hyatt is known for its diverse portfolio, which includes luxury brands like Park Hyatt and boutique options like Andaz. These properties often provide a more premium experience, making them attractive for travelers seeking high-end stays using points.
Family-Friendly Options: Hyatt also has family-friendly brands like Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, which offer pull-out sofa beds in their standard rooms and free breakfasts, making them incredible options when traveling with kiddos.
Status Benefits
Generous Elite Program: The World of Hyatt elite status program is known for offering substantial benefits (even at the entry-level Discoverist status), including things like late check-out, room upgrades when available, and bonus points on stays.
No Resort Fees on Award Stays
Savings on Fees: Unlike other hotel chains, Hyatt doesn’t charge resort fees on award stays. This can save a significant amount of money, especially at properties where resort fees can be high. This is what enables us to stay at Hyatt properties for literally $0!
These factors make Hyatt hotels a top choice for award travelers who are looking to maximize their points and enjoy high-quality stays while they’re at it! Hyatt stays are definitely a key piece of our family’s award travel strategy.
We’re here if you have any questions!

Friendly reminder: We are not financial advisers, we are simply sharing our method and approach with you. Of course, it's important to use credit cards responsibly. Pay off your balance in full each month to avoid interest charges, and never spend more than you can afford just to earn rewards.
